Died late 6th century. Saint Fachanan may have been the first bishop of Ross, Ireland, of which he is the patron. He founded the monastic school of Roscarbery (or Ross-Altair in County Cork) and appointed Saint Brendan (f.d. May 16) as one of its teachers (Benedictines, Montague).
