Died c. 838. Bishop Winnoc of Scotland is commemorated in the Aberdeen breviary and is especially venerated in Buchan. Some scholars believe that Winnoc was a counsellor to King Kenneth. It is said that Winnoc's prayers helped the king to vanquish the Picts in seven battles on a single day (Benedictines, Farmer, Husenbeth).
