Died 637. Fergna was a kinsman and disciple of St. Columba (f.d. June 9), whom he succeeded as abbot of Iona (Benedictines, Encyclopaedia).

thou didst strengthen the foundation of thy kinsman Colum Cille, O righteous Ferona,
bringing stability to Christ's holy Church and salvation to men's souls.
