5th century. A Cornish or Breton saint of the family of Saint Ismael, Saint Elian has given his name to Llanelian in Anglesey and Llanelian in Denbigshire. He was the titular head of Saint Allen's Church in Cornwall < http://homepages.tesco.net/~k.wasley/Allen.htm > (Benedictines).
