The last of the Bards, Murdach lived as a hermit near a lake in Argylshire. Dempster, who compiled the Scottish Menology (Calendar of Saints), and from whom we have our sole knowledge of this undated saint, refers to him as a Culdee, which would probably take him into the 8th. Century or later.
